What We Believe

Our passion is pursuing God and his word.

Grounded in the Word

Our plea is for religious unity based on the Bible alone. We believe that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through His Word and we strive to follow the pattern of the New Testament church in everything we do. God's Word is our final authority in all matters.

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and no name but the name given to the followers of Christ in the New Testament.

  • We follow the New Testament teaching on how to become a Christian:

    • hearing the Word (Romans 10:17)

    • believing in Christ (Hebrews 11:6)

    • repenting of sins (Luke 13:3)

    • confessing Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9-10)

    • being baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38)

  • Our worship is simple and heartfelt. Following the example of the early church, we engage in a cappella singing, prayer, the study of the Bible, and the weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:42; 20:7).

  • We believe that Christ is the head of the church, and we are committed to the biblical pattern of church leadership. We firmly believe in and strive toward the New Testament model of being led by qualified elders and served by deacons (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1). We are prayerfully working toward the day when our congregation matures to appoint men to these scriptural offices. Until then, our members work together in unity to carry out the work of the Lord in Parrish.

    • The Great Commission: We are dedicated to sharing the Gospel with our neighbors in Parrish and beyond, following the command of Jesus to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15-16).

    • Benevolence & Missions: We believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus. We stay active in helping those in need and supporting mission work, "not growing weary while doing good" (Galatians 6:9).
